What is the Salute to Illinois Scholars (SIS)?

Salute to Illinois Scholars (SIS) is an invitation-only event hosted by the University of Illinois System, together with the Southern Illinois University System and Eastern Illinois University, for high achieving high school seniors and honor society community college transfer students in the southern region of the state. The purpose of the SIS is to honor these talented students for their academic achievements, and to provide information about opportunities at these public universities, located right here in Illinois.

The event includes a College Fair and Luncheon. Representatives from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of Illinois at Chicago, the University of Illinois at Springfield, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and Eastern Illinois University will be on hand to answer questions about academics, financial aid, housing and admissions.

Invited students who attend SIS will receive fee waivers for future applications for admission, as well as a Certificate of Academic Achievement.
